Having your wedding out in the suburbs comes with its own set of perks. Luckily for those wanting to have their wedding in the Chicagoland area, there are a ton of amazing venues right outside of the city that can make your dreams come true. The venues out in the suburbs really shine when it comes to being in a better price range, having ample parking, and overall being super convenient. The best part is, you don't have to sacrifice style and look either. These venues are stunning and have their own unique advantages that are sure to “wow” you! Being outside of Chicago city limits does not hold you back, instead it propels you to so many more options and ideas!

We’ve compiled a list of a few of our favorite venues that are sure to spark some inspiration for your upcoming wedding! All of these venues are FRE approved and are truly great places to have your forever after.

The Crawford - Naperville, IL

The Crawford out in Naperville is up first. This contemporary wedding venue matches the look of many urban spaces with its brick walls and sleek interiors but still keeping a unique flair that is all things sleek. The venue is spacious with many different rooms and areas perfect for large scale weddings that need a bit more space. The Crawford’s rooms include a bride and groom suite, ceremony and reception space, and a styled bar. One of our favorite parts of this venue is the large bridal suite that locks! This is perfect for couples that want to hide away pre and post ceremony in order to keep from being bothered by curious guests. The billiards room is the most stunning place for photos too!! It is ideal for sleek looking flash photography in your second look and really adds a fun element to the gallery. If you’re worried about weather, the ceremony can take place both outside or inside. Chicago weather and the weather app for that matter can be a bit unpredictable, so this way your “Plan B” is set in stone! When the weather allows, the outside courtyard of The Crawford is simply stunning. Complete with customizable hanging lights and natural greenery, the courtyard is a great place for outdoor ceremonies. They even have an in-house bar here, which is another one of those perks that is hard to find in many places within city limits. All in all, The Crawford is one of those venues that is so easy to work with and make all your wedding dreams come true.

Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook - Oakbrook, IL

Next up, we have Hyatt Lodge - Oak Brook in Oak Brook, IL. This is one of the event-friendly hotels in the area that truly takes your breath away. Having a hotel wedding means a ton of amazing benefits, but honestly, having your entire wedding day all in one place really takes the cake. From ceremony to reception, you are extremely well taken care of by staff here. There are also a number of beautiful spaces around the hotel for photographs that you'll treasure for a lifetime. The hotel is a lakeside retreat that transports its guests to a nature lover's dream. The Grand Oaks Pavilion at the hotel takes the cake. When couples see this ballroom, it's typically when they will say yes to the venue. The pavilion has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the nature preserve. It is complete with unique lighting and even a terrace where guests can come in and out to enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding them. The space is available for 200 seated guests, ideal for those with a larger guest count! If you’re looking for a more “green space” aesthetic, Hyatt Lodge - Oak Brook is built on a forest preserve, so venturing out to take photos looks more green than other hotels in and out of the city. Just a short distance away from the loop, this hotel is a total getaway for your wedding day.

The Morton Arboretum - Lisle, IL

The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL is a historic site filled with gardens, gorgeous views, and makes for incredible event space. The Arboretum holds many different rooms for different guest counts up to 300 people. No matter your vision, The Morton Arboretum has so many different beautiful spaces to create your dream day. The newest of the bunch is the Firefly Pavilion. This Pavilion is a covered area with shades that can be lowered (to keep pestering insects out) and help out with the hot or cold temperatures. This Pavilion is stunning and can truly transform into something straight out of a wedding magazine. Running around The Morton Arboretum for photos is so fun. There are just so many places for unique photo opportunities that you just can't find anywhere else. If you love exploring nature, this is really the wedding venue for you. Even though there are multiple spaces for ceremonies throughout the Arboretum, they are still far enough away to where guests won't run into each other. Disruptions from other weddings aren't something to be worried about here just based on the proximity of each ceremony space. The venue is complete with suites for you to get ready in and place your important belongings too. 

Monte Bello Estate - Lockport, IL

Next, we have the Monte Bello Estate. This is an extraordinary space to host your wedding day. This estate features 65 acres of beautiful land and backdrops for the wedding of your dreams. When you book here, you get total exclusive access to the grounds and house on the day of your event. They are complete with a bridal and grooms suite that is honestly just as beautiful as the rest of the venue. Monte Bello Estate has five different ceremony spaces that you can choose to get married at for up to 275 people. The grounds are beautifully manicured for aesthetically pleasing purposes which makes for amazing photos that showcase you and your partner. The venue also has a ton of extra perks that you can add on to your package including but not limited to: custom dance floors, late night snacks, and champagne walls! The Monte Bello Estate is the definition of a fairytale wedding.

Meson Sabika - Naperville, IL

Meson Sabika in Naperville, IL is a restaurant style venue. The onsite restaurant makes for what we think is the best wedding food ever! The tapas here are a savory dream, and so perfect for foodies that care about their meals on the day of their wedding. Even though the space is a restaurant, there are still a ton of places to take lovely photos throughout the entire place. The venue is a stunning estate background and it's quite versatile for any aesthetic that you're wanting. Their outdoor ceremony spot is such a dream too, and if it rains, there is still a beautiful indoor option for your “Plan B”. The overall ambiance of Meson Sabika is so lovely and its truly a dream to work and see weddings be done here. 

Revelry 675 - Batavia, IL

Revelry 675 in Batavia, IL is a spacious wedding venue right outside of the city. If youre in search of something more private yet still iconic, this place is for you. The venue has all white interiors and incredibly cool light fixtures throughout the space that makes it easy for you to customize your aesthetic in any direction. The large patio at the venue is a nice outdoor space for either an outside happy hour or a ceremony out in the open. The two wedding suites make it easy for both people to get ready during the day on site. Our favorite part of this venue is the unique table and chairs that you can rent straight from the venue! Since this is a larger venue, you can fit up to 300 people seated, way more than you can fit at venues in the city.

The District - Richmond, IL

The District in Richmond is a newer venue out in the suburbs. This space is great for those that want the quintessential Chicago loft feel, without being too far into the city! It is such a timeless venue that still keeps the historic charm of the small town it is in. There is a large patio that is covered which we love to see being used for cocktail hour and an upstairs level to put your personal items and snap a few pictures too! The 12 hour rental includes tables and chairs as well as outdoor furniture, and can fit about 180-220 people depending on the floorplan you decide on.

Sky on Nine - Rosemont, IL

Up next, we have Sky on Nine in Rosemont, IL! This venue is located near the international airport and is a hotel. If you have a ton of out of town guests coming in, this venue should definitely be on your radar! This venue is absolutely beautiful and allows you to have your whole wedding day at the space. Because of its proximity to the airport, you have these insane views of the airplanes going by in the sky, without the noise pollution! The open concept floor plan makes for a really wonderful slate for any kind of wedding! The light fixtures here make the space so chic and elegant, but doesn't over shadow all of the other decor that you choose to add. Our favorite touch to this venue is the fact that you can still see the skyline - which is unheard of for suburban weddings! 

Providence Vineyards - Hebron, IL

Providence Vineyards in Hebron, IL is an event space that offers a wide variety of style options to really cater the event to your liking. The all white interior helps couples that have a unique taste without overshadowing the decor and style you bring to the table. We would say this is more of a barn style venue, and its just absolutely beautiful! No matter the season, Providence Vineyards maintains its beauty and poise that is ideal for couples that want to get married during non-busy months. There are also so many great photo opportunities throughout the space including the cute and iconic swing on a tree!

Danada House - Wheaton, IL

Danada House in Wheaton, IL is such a breathtaking and memorable venue. This large space hosts a total of seven different ceremony locations. This venue is large and you have so many options for different photo locations! Not only that, but you're surrounded by the Danada Forest Preserve, which in the warmer months, flourishes into lush green scenery. The main attraction is the mansion, which is a stunning backdrop in itself! The venue can host up to 250 guests and is just so lovely and spacious for larger guest counts! 

Warehouse 109 - Plainfield, IL

Warehouse 109 in Plainfield is a flexible event space. It's a very unique venue out in the suburbs that has a ton of vintage flair. This venue is complete with things like their very own prop shop, where you can choose the rentals you want for your event all from their own warehouse. The venue can hold up to 150 guests and they will truly love exploring such a unique space. This is a full service wedding venue meaning the staff will aid you in anything throughout the wedding process!

The Haight - Elgin, IL

The Haight in Elgin, IL is such a beautiful exposed brick venue with the lofty feel so many people seek. This industrial venue is the perfect mix of vintage and modern and is such a lovely space to host your wedding. If we could describe this venue in one word, it would be warm. It has a very guest forward experience that makes people feel right at home. Even if you hit the maximum of 220 guests, the dance floor and reception area still feels intimate. This venue only hosts one event per day which makes intimacy even more of an important factor! Along with the venue rental, you get access to two wedding suites for you and your partner to get ready in! They are separate rooms for you to take a breath before all of the festivities to come! 

Ravisloe Country Club - Homewood, IL

Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood, IL is one of our favorite suburban spaces to host a wedding. This venue is so unique and simply breathtaking. The Ivy covered walls are PERFECT for an outdoor ceremony during the better weather months and are so gorgeous for pictures of you, your partner, and bridal party. They have an experienced team that is there to make your day exactly how you envisioned it and emphasizes the importance of making the memories you make at their venue be special. This venue is very European inspired and you can totally transport your guests to a different country simply with this venue.

Joliet Union Station - Joliet, IL

Joliet Union Station in Joliet, IL is a historical building turned wedding venue. They place an emphasis on making your wedding feel completely “you”. The venue itself is so timeless and classic indoors and outdoors. The venue can host up to 200 people seated and 300 people cocktail-style if youre looking for something a bit more casual. This ballroom is breathtaking from the moment you walk in and can easily transform into the wedding on your Pinterest board!

Bolingbrook Golf Club - Bolingbrook, IL

Lastly, we have the Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook,IL. We do not have enough good things to say about this venue. The weddings we have done here are simply some of our favorites. Talking about going out with a bang? This venue lets you have fireworks onsite for the most incredible grand exit. The venue has easy parking, large event space, and the classic country club chic look. Here, there are multiple wedding suites to get ready in and spaces for cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception!
