Summer Fun Wedding at Redfield Estate at The Grove in Glenview, IL Wedding Feature: Jill and Steph

Jill and Steph’s wedding day was filled with love and we truly couldn’t get enough! It was a bit of a warm day in June at The Redfield Estate at The Grove in Glenview, but that didn’t stop everyone from having an amazing time. We have had plenty of weddings at this venue, but we absolutely loved this late June wedding day.

We provided day-of coordination for this lovely wedding day and really wanted to make sure that everyone could sit back and enjoy the wedding day. With their relationship being about 6 years and being engaged for 3, their family and friends really wanted to soak in the celebration and not worry about the details - so we helped them do just that! Jill and Steph both really wanted to be present while getting ready with friends the morning of the wedding, during their first looks, and for Jill’s special surprise to Steph later in the night.

Jill and Steph got ready in two different rooms at their hotel. They had each of their wedding parties together, but they actually had to move between the two rooms for hair and makeup. Thankfully, there weren’t any hangups with the couple seeing each other before the first look! We loved seeing the even split of their details and getting ready photos together with their friends!

After they each got dressed and ready, everyone made their way to the venue for the first look and all of the photos at Redfield Estate. The grounds are so stunning so it only makes sense to have the photos all onsite! It also makes for a whole lot less logistically to manage too.

Jill and Steph had their moment together and then their wedding parties joined them for all of their photos. We totally understand when you want your first look to be down the aisle at the ceremony, but having your first look beforehand means that you actually get to spend more of your wedding day together! And who doesn’t love more time with their soon-to-be spouse?

The house at Redfield Estate is great for photos too if it’s too hot or you want even more variety in your photo album - we definitely loved all of the photos they took together!!

Jill and Steph’s ceremony was INCREDIBLY sweet and fun to be a part of. We made sure their unity glass bead ceremony was ready and that they had their vow books for their amazing personal vows (Steph interluding the Pokémon theme lyrics within her vows was definitely a hoot). The excited energy between them was so precious and was all right on time!

After the ceremony, Jill and Steph went back into the house with their wedding party for a shoe change and to spend some time together. They didn’t really go and mingle because they wanted to make sure to really soak in the moment with each other and their closest family and friends.

We spent the cocktail hour prepping the pavilion for the reception while the cocktail hour happened on the outdoor patio. We loved their details - the cake topper with the little pup with them, the 3 specialty cocktails being named after their multitude of pets, and their memory table with the shoes that their late bridesmaid would have worn… everything was incredibly well-thought out and we could tell that they really wanted each detail to matter.

The grand entrance started a little late, but we were able to get things back on track thankfully! We actually made a run to the store for them during dinner for the alcohol they needed since they were running low and thankfully it happened seamlessly!

They had some really fun speeches from their friends that were jointly-written that brought everyone lots of laughs. Jill and Steph shared their first dance and each danced with their dads at the same time, and then it was time for Jill’s surprise…

Jill had worked in theatre and surprised Steph with singing “Fever” by Peggy Lee from Ordinary Days, which was one of the first productions that Steph came to see Jill perform in. It was absolutely amazing - you could definitely tell that she was incredibly talented and that Steph really enjoyed hearing Jill sing!

After the surprise song Jill performed, it was time to hit the dance floor - and that surely is what everyone did!

Jill and Steph did a joint bouquet toss which was fun, and truly the dance floor was filled the full night!

We cleared up their decor and the last song they had us pass out bubbles for everyone to blow as they circled around the couple on the dance floor. It was truly a magical day from start to finish!

Overall, Jill and Steph’s wedding day was incredibly fun to be a part of. You really could tell that they had such a lovely day and really enjoyed their time together with their family and friends. It had been a long time coming for them to be able to celebrate with each other and with their family and friends and we are so glad that they were able to have a smooth day and really soak in all the fun together. It was such a sweet, joyful day and we are so thankful to have been a part of this wedding in making sure it all ran as smoothly as possible!
