The Crawford Wedding Venue in Naperville
Weddings in the Chicago suburbs are so much fun, and as a wedding coordinator that has worked over 150 weddings, we definitely have some of our favorite wedding venues we love more than most. The Crawford is definitely a perfect modern, sophisticated wedding venue that we recommend to couples frequently and absolutely love for all that it has to offer. We know which spaces are worth the money, and The Crawford is truly one of the best wedding venues in the state. Here is everything you need to know about the wedding venue and why you should consider it for your wedding day.

The Space
The Crawford is based in Naperville, Illinois which is a western suburb just inland from Chicago that is great for weddings. It’s nice and close to airports and throughways to make it easy for guests that are coming in from out of town without the intense hustle and bustle of Chicago proper. If you like the urban area, you can head closer to the city for photos, but most people love the space as-is for your day from start to finish.
The Grand Ballroom is the main, largest space for your day. This space has many ways you can adjust it, like the shades for the windows, the 66 hanging lights height can be changed, and the floor plans are custom to suit your needs. We love this space because the sunset comes through on this side making the lighting always amazing for your wedding day.
There’s an indoor ceremony space called the Ladyglen Ballroom that is great for a modern, elegant ceremony or cocktail hour if you have a smaller guest count. If your guest count is over a certain number, you’ll have your ceremony and reception in the Grand Ballroom with a room flip during cocktail hour.
There are two wedding suites - the Billiards room is one large space that is also open to guests if they want to get away from the music or play a round of pool, and there’s also a private wedding suite with a lockable door to store your personal items and hide out before the ceremony begins.
The outdoor Courtyard with wooden arbors that is perfect for an outdoor ceremony or for cocktail hour. We love that it’s open air and has the brick surrounding the space that makes it feel romantic and beautiful too. This is the perfect spot for some outdoor sunset photos too if you would like!
The guest capacity is up to 250 guests for a seated reception and 325 guests for a cocktail-style event.
We personally also love how close My Chef Catering is to this space - they are one of their preferred caterers and they are absolutely amazing!

About The Crawford
The Crawford was recently bought by Abbott Hospitality in 2022 which has venues in the Chicago suburbs as well as Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Iowa all with a very similar modern, elegant, sleek feel.
You can host parties and corporate events here, but what we love most is how easy it is to host your whole wedding day here.
Your main points of contact in the venue are Tommy and Catie who are both absolute delights. We love working with them because they are so down-to-earth, kind, and accommodating for all of our couples.

Flow
Many of our couples love getting ready early in the morning onsite because the space is divided so nicely where you don’t interfere with each other until you would like. So you can get your hair and makeup done onsite in the Ladyglen room if you get the additional time in the morning, or arrive dressed and ready for a first look. You can utilize the full space for photos indoors (and outdoors too), and you can even bring your pup if you have a dog that you’d like to get some pictures with too!
When your guests arrive at The Crawford, you can use the spacious parking lot and be easily directed in and through the venue with the help of the venue staff and us as coordinators. You can hide away in the main wedding suite so guests don’t get a peak before the ceremony begins as well.
After the ceremony, your guests will get ushered to cocktail hour either on the outdoor patio or in the halls of the building with overflow into the Ladyglen or Billiards rooms. The Grand Ballroom will be ready for guests to see when the cocktail hour has concluded, but before that if you’d like to take a minute to rest you can hang out in the private wedding suite with some drinks and appetizers too!
The Grand Ballroom is definitely the place to be for dinner and dancing - you’re going to love it in here for the rest of the night! We love how spacious the venue is, but it still feels so simple and perfect for the whole wedding day.

Pricing
As of May 21, 2026, The venue fee for weddings from 2025 in peak season was $3,500 no matter the guest count; however, there is a “prime Saturday” fee that gets added which was $8,500 for October and $7,000 in August, so the total cost will really depend on the time of year and the day of the week. There also was a $750 fee for having the ceremony onsite, and the bar package is separate from the venue fee from $30 a person for the gold bar package and $35 a person for the platinum package. With the service charges, taxes, and all fees considered, our August wedding with 155 guests was $18,000, and our October weddings with 200-240 guests was ~$22,000 depending on the upgrades they had. For the most accurate pricing, you will definitely want to reach out to them at their contact page.

Want to see a real-life wedding we have had at The Crawford?
See more from Kellie and Cody’s beautiful sunset day!
Kellie and Cody had the most beautiful wedding and we had so much fun being a part of it! The ceremony and reception were at The Crawford in Naperville and the timing of the lighting was impeccable on that early October day.
It was about 83 degrees which was shockingly warm, but everyone was all smiles all day despite it being a bit warm! Kellie and Cody both mentioned that they really were excited about dancing and really wanted the dance floor to be full all night and that it was! We thought this wedding was one of the most fun and we are so thankful to have been their day-of wedding coordinators.
Getting Ready at The Crawford
Kellie and Cody both got ready at The Crawford since it is so spacious and separate. We loved the details shots on their infamous pool table and everything about the day already started off with a modern, elegant feel!
Kellie’s dress was so stunning and we loved this dress shot - the sleek, simple-yet-elegant look was going to be perfect for the space, the wedding, and the couple’s vibe!
Pre-Ceremony Photos Onsite
While the guys got ready with their “game day” shots, shots playing billiards, and their time spent just hanging out, the girls got to say hello to Jax, their pup, that was being handled by Wags of Love for the day as their pet attendant. We loved that they had him around for the getting ready portion as well as the photos with the couple later! It’s also a huge perk of The Crawford that they allow dogs too.
The girl’s time getting ready was surely so much fun - they played music and danced together after getting ready and it looked like so much fun! It was a great way to have some dedicated time with Kellie’s favorite people and to get the energy high while things were kicking off.
Kellie and Cody had planned for a while that they were going to do a first look so that they could enjoy as much time together as possible and attend the cocktail hour a little. They took all their photos together, with their wedding party members, and with their beloved pup Jax all before the ceremony got started.
Wedding Ceremony at The Crawford
The ceremony was quick yet still meaningful - they had their personalized vows that they read to each other, Jax come down the aisle as their ring bearer, and a friend officiate their ceremony.
While the cocktail hour was going on, it was a great opportunity to get started with the details shots of the reception. They had a memory table, customized record for their guests to sign for the guest book, customized napkins and drink stirrers, and our personal favorite was the backdrop they had for the photo booth that got set up FILLED with photos of them together.
We loved the way the lighting was for both their ceremony and reception because of the amazing photo style but also because of the peerfect sunset timing to line up with their ceremony! It was such a beautiful, orange tone that was so warm and welcoming thanks to J. Cate & Co.
Wedding Reception at The Crawford
After the couple spent some time to themselves after the ceremony, they welcomed their guests all into the reception with a grand entrance, cake cutting, first dance, and their welcome toast. Before things got too busy though they made sure to take a photo at their photo booth with their dog, Jax too!
Kellie and Cody had everyone gather on the dance floor for a huge group photo and then kicked off their dance floor with everyone. The dance floor surely was packed the whole time like they were hoping!
Kellie whipped out a customized jean jacket and glasses that we couldn’t get enough of. One super unique thing they had for their guests too was a perfume bar that was a huge hit and so cool to see honestly!
Fun Dance Party
The absolute best way to get people hyped for the wedding reception is a CO2 cannon - we have only seen it at a few weddings, but it is a HUGE hit every time. Cody was up by the DJ table for a while and then joined Kellie shooting off the CO2 into their crowd of guests. Midwest Best DJs surely were the best at keeping that energy high too!
Overall, Kellie and Cody’s wedding was one for the ages and we are so thankful to have been a part of it. They really wanted to be a part of their reception and enjoy themselves with their family and friends and we made sure they could do that without worrying about the room flip, set up, or any of the details and logistics of the day. It was such a pleasure to see how much fun they had on their wedding day!!
