Classic, Modern, Fall Sunset Wedding at The Crawford in Naperville, IL Wedding Feature: Kellie and Cody

Kellie and Cody had the most beautiful wedding and we had so much fun being a part of it! The ceremony and reception were at The Crawford in Naperville and the timing of the lighting was impeccable on that early October day.

It was about 83 degrees which was shockingly warm, but everyone was all smiles all day despite it being a bit warm! Kellie and Cody both mentioned that they really were excited about dancing and really wanted the dance floor to be full all night and that it was! We thought this wedding was one of the most fun and we are so thankful to have been their day-of wedding coordinators.

Kellie and Cody both got ready at The Crawford since it is so spacious and separate. We loved the details shots on their infamous pool table and everything about the day already started off with a modern, elegant feel!

Kellie’s dress was so stunning and we loved this dress shot - the sleek, simple-yet-elegant look was going to be perfect for the space, the wedding, and the couple’s vibe!

While the guys got ready with their “game day” shots, shots playing billiards, and their time spent just hanging out, the girls got to say hello to Jax, their pup, that was being handled by Wags of Love for the day as their pet attendant. We loved that they had him around for the getting ready portion as well as the photos with the couple later! It’s also a huge perk of The Crawford that they allow dogs too.

The girl’s time getting ready was surely so much fun - they played music and danced together after getting ready and it looked like so much fun! It was a great way to have some dedicated time with Kellie’s favorite people and to get the energy high while things were kicking off.

Kellie and Cody had planned for a while that they were going to do a first look so that they could enjoy as much time together as possible and attend the cocktail hour a little. They took all their photos together, with their wedding party members, and with their beloved pup Jax all before the ceremony got started.

The ceremony was quick yet still meaningful - they had their personalized vows that they read to each other, Jax come down the aisle as their ring bearer, and a friend officiate their ceremony.

While the cocktail hour was going on, it was a great opportunity to get started with the details shots of the reception. They had a memory table, customized record for their guests to sign for the guest book, customized napkins and drink stirrers, and our personal favorite was the backdrop they had for the photo booth that got set up FILLED with photos of them together.

We loved the way the lighting was for both their ceremony and reception because of the amazing photo style but also because of the peerfect sunset timing to line up with their ceremony! It was such a beautiful, orange tone that was so warm and welcoming thanks to J. Cate & Co.

After the couple spent some time to themselves after the ceremony, they welcomed their guests all into the reception with a grand entrance, cake cutting, first dance, and their welcome toast. Before things got too busy though they made sure to take a photo at their photo booth with their dog, Jax too!

Kellie and Cody had everyone gather on the dance floor for a huge group photo and then kicked off their dance floor with everyone. The dance floor surely was packed the whole time like they were hoping!

Kellie whipped out a customized jean jacket and glasses that we couldn’t get enough of. One super unique thing they had for their guests too was a perfume bar that was a huge hit and so cool to see honestly!

The absolute best way to get people hyped for the wedding reception is a CO2 cannon - we have only seen it at a few weddings, but it is a HUGE hit every time. Cody was up by the DJ table for a while and then joined Kellie shooting off the CO2 into their crowd of guests. Midwest Best DJs surely were the best at keeping that energy high too!

Overall, Kellie and Cody’s wedding was one for the ages and we are so thankful to have been a part of it. They really wanted to be a part of their reception and enjoy themselves with their family and friends and we made sure they could do that without worrying about the room flip, set up, or any of the details and logistics of the day. It was such a pleasure to see how much fun they had on their wedding day!!
