Anca and Avery had such a beautiful spring day to kick off the wedding season! It was the beginning of May with the weather being about 65 degrees and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. We were their day-of coordinators to make sure everything ran smoothly and we are so thankful to have helped them enjoy themselves.

Avery and Anca really prioritized their family and friends being able to have a good experience, so things like a seamless room flip, a good timeline, and a point-of contact in a coordinator were all really important to them. We definitely feel their day was a perfect show of how to keep your guests in mind and provide a great guest experience.

The couple started their day getting ready at The Godfrey Hotel with their closest people and then headed to Milton Olive Tree Park for their first look and photos.

We absolutely loved the sun being out a bit during the photos so it didn’t feel too cold with Lake Michigan’s breeze. The wedding party also made sure Anca and Avery had fun too!

We loved Anca and Avery’s choices for the wedding colors and the florals with a focus on unique greenery. The colors worked so well together and really felt classy!

The wedding party all came to the venue with plenty of time to spare for a mock ceremony rehearsal since we didn’t do one the day before. Something about this wedding was incredibly on time and often even early thanks to the buffer time that we added throughout the timeline!

The Arbory is such a beautiful venue and we love working weddings here. The plants all over surely are our favorite, but the natural light, string lights, and warm brick are all also great features about the space.

The ceremony went off without a hitch with Anca’s brother officiating and Avery’s sister doing a few readings, including a poem she wrote herself. The whole ceremony felt incredibly personalized to the couple and there really wasn’t a dry eye in the space!

After the ceremony finished and they did a few family photos at the altar, we got them situated on the front section of the venue so we could work on the room flip for dinner. Anca’s dress had a pretty intense bustle for her train but we were able to get that situated then too.

The Arbory really shines with the room shots - the warmth really feels palpable at this point! The greenery and white florals were a perfect touch to the space and really the vision really came to life.

Cocktail hour went off without a hitch with the ceremony musicians playing through the hour too. The couple first spent some time alone during cocktail hour with some drinks and appetizers in the wedding suite, and eventually started mingling with their favorite people which was a high point for them. We loved how excited everyone seemed to get the part started at this point too!

The reception continued to be on time and sometimes even early - we are so glad we were able to keep things moving well so they could get on the dance floor as soon as possible.

After the dinner, speeches, and their choreographed dances, the couple and their family and friends really danced the night away! Before the photographer left, he took some night shots at the iconic green plant wall and everyone danced through the rest of the night.

Overall, Anca and Avery’s wedding went as well as you could hope! They really were able to soak up all the moments with their favorite people while we made sure things like their surprise transportation (they didn’t tell us they booked until that night) ran smoothly, all of their personal items were packed and ready to be taken home, and the timeline went as smoothly as possible. It was truly a pleasure getting to watch them enjoy themselves all day long!
