Artifact Events Chicago Wedding Venue

The Space

Artifact Events is a wedding venue located in Ravenswood in Chicago, so it’s pulled away enough from the city that it’s much quieter and easier to navigate while still being local enough to enjoy the city. Artifact Events is good for hosting private events like weddings, but it’s also a venue used for fundraisers, festivals, workshops, and markets.

There are two many spaces in Artifact Events - the North and South. In each of those spaces, they have a first and second floor that all have varying capacities and perks.

On the North side, the first floor houses their Atrium with ample natural light and the multi-story ceilings adorned with those unique chandeliers. Couples love taking photos on the catwalk to the second floor and it makes for a seamless transition from ceremony to cocktail hour. This space can hold up to 250 guests for a seated dinner or 420 guests for a standing event. There is also a private wedding suite available on both sides!

On the South side, the first floor is where most of the magic happens. This area has a capacity of 200 guests for a seated dinner or 514 guests for a standing event. Through the main hall, your guests will start at the Lounge - this space is great for small ceremonies, for cocktail hour, or for a rain plan for smaller guest counts if you can’t use the infamous Courtyard. Most folks love taking photos in this room at the antique doors that are set against the back wall, and many of your guests will appreciate using this space’s lounge furniture for seating away from all the fun. The main dinner and dancing will happen in the Ravenswood Room which is spacious, warm, and filled with great lighting. There are many windows but they also have string lights that our couples love with their overhead lighting too.

The second floor of the South Side is mostly used for a rain plan for a larger ceremony or just a space to veg out before the wedding - there is a private wedding suite upstairs that’s great for storing your personal items here as well. This is still a great location for the ceremony with the exposed brick walls if you need to move things indoors too.

The best part of the whole venue is the South side’s Courtyard in our opinion. The capacity is for 269 for a seated ceremony or a standing event and this is where the magic truly happens. The stone columns are something out of a story book and we know that your guests will have never seen a more beautiful spot for a wedding. You’ll have to make sure to take some photos out here when you can!

This space is unique because of the character it has with all of the architecture. We always tell couples on the South side that the Courtyard is something out of Greece or Europe with the columns you have as your ceremony backdrop, and on the North side you really can’t deny how beautiful all of the chandeliers are in the North Atrium!

We also know that couples get concerned about the two separate spaces is the noise from other events, but as a wedding coordinator that has worked here many times before, you actually can’t hear anything from the other side since they are not shared spaces! They also have two different doors that means your wedding is entirely your own.

About Artifact Events

Artifact Events used to be the Boye Needle Company which was a manufacturing company for sewing needles. Since then, there have clearly been renovations to make this space perfect for hosting events. We love how many events they have that aren’t private too, like all of the markets and antique shopping they host for people to come and visit throughout the year!

Artifact Events became available for hosting events in 2016 and it’s been 10 incredible years since then with how much love this space gets. We know that couples love the modern, elegant feel of the space and learning more about where it started is always fun for your guests too!

One thing that our couples love to know is that you’re permitted to bring your leashed dogs for the ceremony and photos if you please!

Artifact Events works with plenty of preferred/required caterers from their list to choose from. They will also be able to help with any additional rentals needed. The bar packages will be through the venue and have many packages and accommodations you can choose from. Artifact Events also requires a wedding coordinator or planner to make sure that you have a smooth experience for your wedding day.

One thing we love in particular is all of the natural light throughout the space. The light, airy feel that it has often isn’t associates with loft-style, elegant wedding venues but it’s definitely a feature worth noting.

Flow

For the North side, You’ll start through the North entrance from their parking lot into the initial hall. Your ceremony will take place down the stairs for a grand, dramatic feel and your guests will feel is incredibly unique. When the ceremony has finished, your guests will be directed on the catwalk to the second level for cocktail hour at their beautiful wrap-around bar. The white curtains are helpful for making sure the reveal for dinner is one to remember, and you can head back up to the ceremony area in the Atrium to dance the night away.

For the South side, your ceremony will be out in the Courtyard given that the weather is nice, but you can also have small ceremonies inside in the Lounge and cocktail hour in the Courtyard if you prefer. Your guests will have an easy time following the main hallway and finding the festivities from the parking lot no problem. If you do have to use the second floor for your ceremony, they will be directed to the Lounge for cocktail hour and return to the Ravenswood Room for the rest of your dinner and dancing. After your ceremony and cocktail hour, Ravenswood Room is the main hub for all of the fun, but the lounge will usually keep their bar set up as a space to get away from the noise if you please.

Pricing

Artifact Events does not have their pricing publicly on their website, so we highly recommend reaching out to them at their contact page, keeping in mind they have a list of required caterers to choose from as well for totaling your wedding budget. As of September 8, 2026, we had a wedding last year on the South side and it was $9,000 for a peak-season Saturday to give an idea of the cost.

Want to see a real wedding at Artifact Events?

Check out Sydni and Jalen’s wedding feature below:

Our amazing July wedding is surely one of our favorites from the year that we just have to share! It was so hard narrowing down photos from Sydni and Jalen’s wedding day - everything was so beautiful and so much fun! Their wedding was in the perfect weather and really went off without a hitch. We provided day-of coordination to make sure the ceremony and reception ran smoothly at Artifact Events in Chicago.

The details were stunning to start off the day - Everything really matched the classy, elegant feeling throughout the day. It’s always so fun to see all of the little details from a wedding that you have spent time and money crafting together. It’s wonderful to see all of your efforts pulled together in this way!

The guys got ready in their hotel at Residence Inn Downtown in the Loop and the girls got ready at Sydni and Jalen’s apartment. It was great to have two photographers so they could get photos of both groups with their favorite people!

After the girls got their hair and makeup done, they came over to the venue to get dressed and hang out in their upstairs area. It was nice to be in the venue already so they didn’t have to travel much and could take photos together!

Sydni’s attire was AMAZING - she had thought of every detail to really create that elegant, sleek beauty that we all know and love! Her cathedral-length veil was stunning, the earrings were so unique, and she looked absolutely stunning.

The ceremony spot really hit the nail on the head for the ethereal, modern, garden feeling that they wanted. We were so pleased with the weather being absolutely perfect and also how everything looked - Flowerchild did an amazing job bringing the look together perfectly!

Sydni and Jalen opted not to do a first look because they really wanted to be in the moment and didn’t want to do too much posing before the wedding. They cared deeply about the emotional aspect of the ceremony and we made sure that they were really able to be present with their family and friends.

As the cocktail hour was happening after their beautiful ceremony in the courtyard at Artifact Events, the guests were directed inside for cocktail hour and the reception space was nearly ready. We absolutely loved the all-white decor and the warmth of the space - it was truly so beautiful and modern! The sweetheart table also was incredible - the flowers were amazing and the venue’s wooden table really brought everything together in our opinion. We have been leaning more towards sweetheart tables because your wedding party can sit with all of the guests they know while you and your love have an intimate dinner together. It’s also an easier way to make a statement because you have to decorate less but it can really be a beautiful focal point.

The wedding party attire definitely added to the modern, classy look with their champagne, floor-length dresses and black tuxes. They didn’t take a lot of wedding party photos which was actually nice so they could all enjoy themselves for cocktail hour too!

During cocktail hour, Sydni and Jalen did get to enjoy some time together doing their couple’s photos and we have to say they are definitely some of the most beautiful photos in the album. We definitely loved how happy they were and the photos with their signature drinks were super cute too!

After cocktail hour, we directed guests to their seats and got the evening started with a grand entrance from the couple, a champagne tower, their first dance, and then dinner. We had some speeches and their cake cutting and got into dancing finally! We know Sydni and Jalen were really excited to get on the dance floor and it was a great meal to get the party ready for a good time.

The dance floor was full through the whole evening - EVERYONE wanted to dance and that’s exactly what they did! Some of our favorite parts of the wedding day is really getting to see you and your family and friends all be able to let loose and enjoy yourselves all night long. It really is a pleasure getting to see our couples have a good time and really get to focus on the fun for their wedding!

Sydni then changed into a reception dress and we think it was one of the best of the year! When she came down the stairs after changing, everyone was so excited and it really energized the party seeing her literally sparkle. We loved the photos they got of them in her evening dress at their rented bar or on the beautiful staircase they did their grand entrance from - there are so many beautiful spots at Artifact Events for photos and they really took full advantage of that!

The photo booth they had too was also a huge hit throughout the night. We really saw all of their guests have a good time - sitting in the lounging area and laughing together, tearing it up on the dance floor, or getting to take home their own photo strips from the photo booth to keep their memories of the fun they had… Everyone really was able to enjoy the wedding day however they’d like. We appreciate providing a great guest experience by providing lots of options for them, like the audio guestbook that they had from After the Tone too!

Overall, Sydni and Jalen really were so much fun to get to know and see with such big smiles on their wedding day. They were so happy from start to finish and really were able to be present and have fun throughout the whole wedding day. We had a great time making sure that they could focus on the fun and it was such a pleasure to be a part of coordinating their wedding day! It was clear that Sydni and Jalen had a lovely time with their family and friends and could get to dancing as soon as possible!

If you’re looking for a wedding like this or want to make sure you can focus on the fun too, reach out to us at our contact page. We would love to be there for your wedding too!

A lovely review from Sydni about our services:

“Rachel was truly such a gem to work with! She is a “you-first” planner/coordinator who leads with patience and kindness. I have experience working in the wedding industry and still found Rachel’s advice and gentle suggestions so helpful throughout my planning process. She remembers things that your brain unintentionally forgets, and she’s able to adapt when things change or don't go as planned (which happened a lot for me). On the day of the wedding, everything went off without a hitch thanks to Rachel and her team. She took great care of my husband and I. I cannot recommend her enough! If you’re looking for a planner who trusts your vision and has the grit to get ish done - Rachel is the one for you!!!”
