Fun, Outdoor Wedding Feature: Maria and Margaux

Sunset photos two brides kissing on paved walkway under large oak tree and lamp posts

Maria and Margaux’s wedding was definitely one to remember because it brought the heat in so many ways! It was the hottest day of the year in June, but it also was so much fun. The ceremony and reception were both at Redfield Estate at The Grove in Glenview, IL and we are so thankful to have been a part of it with our day-of coordination!

They felt like they were brought together with the invisible string theory and now they were ready to have their wedding day to celebrate that love they have had. Maria and Margaux really prioritized their first look, the guest experience, and everyone having a great time. Even with how hot the day ended up being, it thankfully only created minor hiccups and everyone was able to roll with the punches. You also would never be able to tell from the photos because everyone looked so happy throughout the whole day!

Maria and Margaux started their day heading out from the hotel and for their hair and makeup and got dressed and ready at Redfield Estate with their wedding party. It was a nice, intimate group and they were able to spend some of the morning together before getting dressed separately and getting ready for their first look!

We don’t often make a big deal about the details shots, but Danielle, their photographer, really outdid herself with the flatlays!! We loved the use of Maria’s veil in the one shot and the mosaic tiles in the other - we truly couldn’t choose which one we liked better so you get to see both!

Maria and Margaux got dressed separately and got to see what the other was wearing for the first time for the first look. Maria knew Marguax was wearing a suit and Margaux knew Maria was wearing a dress, but it was still nice to be able to make it a surprise still!

They did their first look and private vows inside the estate house and it was so sweet and emotional. We love having a moment to really feel everything for your private vows without thinking about anyone else in the room. It really makes it easy when you have this shared, private moment together and you get to start your day slowly like this together!

Maria and Margaux took photos all around the grounds of Redfield Estate which were so perfect for their backdrop. We absolutely love this venue because every corner is full of greenery that is beautiful - and the shade also helped to avoid the 93 degrees of sunshine! We also have to mention Maria’s veil again from Belle Botanical Creations - it is so beautiful with the wildflower embroidery!

Maria and Margaux had a small wedding party, which made it easier on them logistically. You don’t have to spend as much time wrangling people or posing photos which makes it much more relaxed for everyone involved!

Maria and Margaux’s wedding ceremony was lovely - they had a unity wine box that they put together during the ceremony and we thought the ribbon details on the chairs were such a nice, sweet touch too.

After the ceremony it was time for cocktail hour! We absolutely adored the “M&M” favors (M and M for Maria and Margaux) and their record guest book that had their names on it too. And with such a lovely, elegant space with so much foliage and greenery, you don’t really have to decorate too much either!

Dinner, speeches, and their first dances flew by. Before the dancing kicked off, Maria and Margaux left the reception area to kick off their shoes, get some AMAZING sunset photos, and head to the estate house to change into their reception attire. That was surely a nice idea for getting something more breathable and comfortable for the heat too!

We loved the moment away that Maria and Margaux got to have before joining the dance floor - they took a bunch of lipstick and mirror photos and they are super cute and fun!! We absolutely loved that fun surprise from Danielle!

Maria and Margaux made their entrance back to the reception with their new outfits - we thought it was so cool you could see one of Redfield Estate’s famous guests too! The deer in the area are really accustomed to the people in the area and often make appearances during the wedding, but we loved that the deer was watching the couple do their grand entrance into the dance floor!

Once the dancing kicked off, it thankfully cooled down a bit from the sun going down. People still hit up the dance floor and were ready to have a great time regardless!

We also really loved the fat heads that they whipped out of their dog - everyone loves a good dance floor prop and people love cardboard cutouts of pets!! It was definitely a night to remember from start to finish and we are so glad that they both got to enjoy their wedding day as much as possible with all of their favorite people.

Overall, Maria and Margaux’s day was one to remember because no matter what happened, they were ready to have a good time and to celebrate their love. We really can’t help but smile when we think of this day because of how in love and happy they both were from start to finish! We are so thankful to have helped make sure it ran as smoothly as possible and that everyone was able to have a great time!
