Lacuna Lofts Events Wedding | Venue Spotlight and Brigid and Jack’s Fall Wedding Feature

We wanted to update this spotlight to feature more information about Lacuna Lofts as well as still having an example of a real wedding at this Chicago wedding venue. We are hoping our updated experience and knowledge now in 2026 will help couples discern between wedding venues and help find a wedding venue that matches their personality.

As a Chicago wedding coordinator that has coordinated over 150 weddings, we have seen all kinds of spaces that you can have your wedding and we have to say we love a space that has personality and is a little more unique. Lacuna Lofts is definitely the best because of so many things, but if you’re looking for a small or large unique Chicago wedding venue, this is surely a great place to start. There are so many things that make this one of our favorite spaces to work - we can’t wait to share more about what makes Lacuna Lofts so iconic!

The Space

Lacuna is actually a building that also hosts office spaces and retail, but most importantly, 4 private, main spaces that you might utilize for your wedding here in Chicago. One really cool, unique feature that we and our couples love is that each space and the halls and walls are filled with unique, artistic pieces and murals to really liven up the space. There are so many spots for iconic photos, including the most popular spot being the “I Love You” wall that was recently repainted! We personally always are in awe of the 3 colorful rhinos that are moved throughout the space too.

The first space is definitely one of our favorites - The Skydeck. The Skydeck is rented out for your ceremony or cocktail hour and it’s truly one of the best views of the Chicago city skyline that we have ever seen at a wedding venue. Because the space is in Pilsen, it’s pulled just enough away from the city so you truly have the best photos and view! As long as the weather is nice, you have about 5,000 square feet and 175 white folding chairs already included that is perfect for a combined ceremony and cocktail hour for over 200 people. Because there can be two weddings on a date at a time, you have to pick between their two allotted times of 3:30pm and 6pm so that they don’t have any overlap for setup, which helps keep each wedding completely separate. It’s on the 5th floor but it’s got elevator access and it’s handicap accessible. The great news too is that as long as we plan times in advance we can also get you up there to take photos - the nighttime photos are so fun and as we said before, you can’t beat the view in the daytime either! We’ve had many couples do their first look up here for the perfect backdrop.

The first space that you can host your wedding reception is La Galleria for guest counts up to 150 seated with a dance floor and 200 guests without the dance floor. This ~4,500 square foot space is on the 5th floor and is the smaller of the two, but it is lined with large windows for a continued perfect view of the Chicago skyline. It comes with crossback chairs, farm tables, a custom bar, and round dinner tables so you can mix things up a bit! The exposed brick throughout the space and the wooden tables and chairs really give it a warm feel and we absolutely love having everything nice and close for the Skydeck being right next to it. The restrooms are nearby too so you don’t have to go far from the party!

The second, larger space is Reverie Gallery on the 1st floor. This is for a guest count up to 350 guests and also comes with crossback chairs and round tables for dinner. This ~12,000 square foot space has private restrooms inside the space as well as the ones outside the main room. Guests also love the salvaged shipping containers that are repurposed into the main bar, restrooms, and entryway, and there’s also a built-in structure for an indoor ceremony if we needed to do a room flip that is made out of picture frames - it really fits the “Steampunk”, eclectic vibe of the whole space.

The last space is Magik Street which is typically used for holding guests before the ceremony or for cocktail hour if it needs to be indoors. It is right as you enter the 1st floor so it’s nice and easy to find and it’s got lots of natural lighting so you don’t have to do much to the space. It holds up to 250 guests in the ~3,000 square feet space for a cocktail reception so both spaces can utilize it if needed, but if you’re planning a smaller event you can use Magik Street for either a guest count up to 70 guests for a seated reception or a seated ceremony for up to 90 guests. Magik Street comes with a custom bar, hi-boy and caberet tables that are perfect for cocktail hour. There’s even a small, private outdoor deck that has gas firepits!

Each of the two reception spaces have a private wedding suite to store your personal items and dimmable lighting. One thing we also love is that you have in-house catering with LM Catering and Events, which is a perk of an all-inclusive wedding venue that you don’t usually see for a space so unique from a banquet hall or hotel. The food and service is great, so you don’t have to worry about booking that, and it’s also BYOB so you can order pickups and dropoffs from places like Garfield’s or Binny’s for a lower cost too.

About Lacuna

Lacuna was built in 1897 originally as once the world’s largest macaroni factory. Today, Lacuna is home over 250,000 square feet of office spaces, retail spaces, meeting rooms, and salon suites. There is an effort to have the full space decorated with art from local artists that create a dynamic environment for everyone to enjoy.

LM Catering itself was founded in 2010. It’s part of LM Restaurant Group that provides full-service catering to the greater Chicago area. LM Catering works exclusively with other venues in the area such as LM Studio, Sky on Nine in Rosemont, and Twenty-Six Chicago.

Flow

For each space, you can arrive about 3 hours before your rental for photos if you please while your vendors are setting up. If you’re doing your photos offsite, make sure to add buffer time for the elevator if you’re planning your ceremony or cocktail hour on the Skydeck or in La Galleria because there’s only one elevator and most of your guests will not want to walk up 5 flights of stairs. We will make sure to usher your guests regardless so they know which room is where! If your guests arrive early to the ceremony, we will typically have them hang out in Magik Street so they don’t run into you as well. Depending on their entrance point (the parking lot is on the other side of where guests from shuttles or ride-share cars stop), we will make sure they are heading to the right place as well as their security team as the doors remain locked throughout the duration of the day.

Your ceremony on the Skydeck will be beautiful, and then when that concludes, you can have all your guests turn around to the large bar top in the back of the space for cocktail hour! We usually have the couple head to the wedding suite if there’s no family photos so you can take a moment outside of the chaos to have drinks and appetizers, then you can go ahead and mingle wherever your cocktail hour space is. We will also help direct your guests if they are heading down or out to Magik Street, no worries about the flow there!

When cocktail hour is finished and the reception is ready, we will direct your guests to La Galleria or Reverie Gallery. You will be able to get to the fun and dance the night away, or go up to the Skydeck for some beautiful sunset or nighttime photos! When the reception concludes, we will have the teardown taken care of in an hour and you can be on your way to your hotel or your after party without worrying about a thing.

Pricing

As of April 7, 2026, The peak season has a minimum of $17,000 for the catering that is in-house. The venue fee is typically separate from that cost.

The prime season and winter rental fee for Reverie Gallery is $1,500, with the additional fees being either the cocktail hour or indoor ceremony rental being $750. It doesn’t actually cost more for the ceremony rental itself which is nice to know. However, your final bill will be much more because you’re also paying for the LM Catering at the same time. The winter package for 2025 was $125 per person for food and the prime season 2025 package was $150 per person. This doesn’t include equipment, rentals, staffing, admin fees, or taxes. Our couples that had 250 guests in the winter paid $17,000 while the prime season couple with 225 guests paid $51,000.

For La Galleria, our couple for peak season 2026 is having 120 guests with the ceremony and cocktail hour on the Skydeck with their catering and venue total at $29,700. Our 2024 couple in prime season had 165 guests and the rental was $6,000 - they had an indoor ceremony and used the Skydeck for cocktail hour and it didn’t have an additional cost. Their catering and venue total was $32,000.

All that’s to say, this is a pretty variable space depending on what you need and want for your wedding day. Please be sure to schedule a tour and get more information from them directly by emailing at events@lacuna2150.com

Lacuna Lofts Wedding Day in Chicago

This October wedding was such a beautiful day! Firmly Rooted Events was Brigid and Jack’s day-of wedding coordination team on a brisk day in Chicago. Their classic, simple, wonderful wedding speaks for itself in its beauty and love.

The ceremony was at the Church of the Holy Family, and the reception was in Lacuna Lofts in Chicago, and it was a lovely day overall! Our favorite thing about this wedding, beside the sweet, amazing couple we worked with, was how they really infused some of their life story and their personality into their wedding day.

Sage Green and Gold Wedding Day Details

Sage green and gold Lacuna Lofts wedding invitation suite

Something about the details at this wedding day has us swooning and you’ll know why for sure. The beautiful sage green and gold is a staple through the wedding day as well as the ginkgo tree leaves.

Wedding Day Prep & Special Details

Brigid and Jack started the morning getting ready at their hotel. We absolutely loved the sweats that they had as an alternative for PJs - it definitely is cozy and still is easy to change out of without damaging your hair and makeup by having to pull anything over your head!

Bride getting final touches for wedding reception at Lacuna Lofts

One of our favorite things you can do for your wedding day is personalize the details to fit you and your partner’s lives together. The ginkgo tree leaves are showing through the wedding day with this letter Brigid had gotten from her soon-to-be spouse, as well as the invitation, programs, and escort cards at the reception.

Brigid said that she grew up with a huge gingko tree in her front yard that holds a significant place in her family’s heart. When she was looking for her wedding dress, she got chills when she realized the one she loved had ginkgo leaf lace. She got a custom-made ginkgo leaf veil to bring it all together with it as its symbol of hope, strength, and resilience.

Ceremony at Holy Family Church

Brigid and Jack got married at the Church of the Holy Family in Chicago - this church is one that we will NEVER forget with how gorgeous everything about it is!!! The way that it is illuminated is mesmerizing, and it was even more special because their brother officiated as he is now a pastor himself.

We absolutely live for the moments like these - having that kiss when you’re walking back up the aisle now that you’re married is so sweet! It’s so cute to see all of your guests cheering you on too.

Autumn Wedding Day Portraits at Tom Park

After the ceremony was over and the family portraits were finished, the wedding party took the trolley to Ping Tom Park for their photos. They didn’t want to do a first look and wanted to see each other for the first time down the aisle, so they had a break built into their timeline so they could take all of their photos with each other and their wedding party and still attend cocktail hour.

Brigid and Jack had a smaller wedding party than we’ve seen in a while, but they still brought the fun with having lots of wedding guests at the ceremony and reception. The sage green dresses they had are so beautiful as a contrast against the October fall leaves.

Autumn wedding portraits with iconic Chicago skyline

Turns out that October 28 was the perfect time of year to get those beautiful fall colors - their portraits together are so beautiful!!! We know that these photos are definitely the ones you can hang on your wall like art - just like the murals you’ll see later at one of our favorite venues.

The first mural of the day was found at the park before they headed over to the reception and it was a great spot to get some contrast in their album with the blues! They really were able to find such a variety with the vibrant color in their album with the fall leaves, sage green, and this blue.

Lacuna Lofts Wedding Reception

Lacuna Lofts is one of our favorite wedding venues in Chicago because it is so unique while still not being too out of the box. The loft-y feel it provides as well as all of the murals and art pieces are sure to be something to remember. The artistic flair gives it its own personality that you don’t really find in other spaces!

Lacuna Lofts wedding reception with bistro lights

To really wrap together the themes of the day, you will see that the escort cards also were that same sage green as the invites and the dresses with the gold foil ginkgo leaves. We absolutely loved seeing how well all of the details were brought together!

Rooftop Wedding Pictures on the Skydeck

Unfortunately it was a little chilly to have the cocktail hour on their iconic Skydeck, but thankfully Brigid and Jack braved the cold to get some of the cutest photos from the day up there. There is such a gorgeous view of the Chicago skyline as well as a really fun Chicago-themed mural in the first photo above!

Wedding Day Portraits at Lacuna Lofts Murals

When we say there are murals throughout the venue, we aren’t lying! The most popular one for wedding days is the “I Love You” mural is one that definitely stands the tests of time and is so cute.

Brigid and Jack’s Epic Night with The Final Say Band

The evening was such a fun time - Brigid and Jack had The Final Say band, and the guests LOVED them! With a larger guest count and an energetic band, nearly every guest was on the dance floor through the whole night.

No matter what age your guests are, having a band really brings an energy that otherwise wouldn’t be achievable and really gets everyone excited to celebrate with you.

A Day Filled with Love and Celebration

Overall, this wedding was so beautiful because of the weather and the venue, but especially because Brigid and Jack were so sweet and happy throughout the whole day!

We can definitely tell when couples like them are focused on enjoying each other and celebrating with their guests, the day feels perfect. We are so glad we were able to help make the day run smoothly for them to be free to have a good time without worrying about a thing!
