Coastal, Spring Wedding at Greenhouse Loft in Chicago, IL Wedding Feature: Alleana and Max
Alleana and Max were filled with such a great amount of joy from start to finish on their wedding day! It was a chill day at the end of May at Greenhouse Loft in Chicago, but it was nice and sunning outside which made the weather a little easier to deal with. These two were with us throughout all of their planning and we helped them with our partial planning services to makes sure that they could really enjoy themselves while planning and on the wedding day.
Alleana and Max felt anxious going into their planning to make sure everything was going to run smoothly, but on the wedding day they were able to take as much time together as they wanted and really soak in each moment. They really valued the quality time for themselves and with their guests and didn’t have as much of an emphasis on dancing. Alleana and Max wanted to provide their guests with an experience that didn’t solely focus on the dance floor, which meant their photo booth, Jenga, and lots of space for chatting worked perfectly at Greenhouse Loft.
Alleana and Max both got ready at two different homes and then met up at Greenhouse Loft for their first look. Alleana finished up getting dressed at the venue a little later than expected, but thankfully we budgeted a lot of extra buffer time for photos that didn’t interrupt the flow of the timeline too heavily.
Alleana and Max’s vibe for their decor was what we would call a “coastal” theme with the light blue hydrangeas, white florals, and the spring energy. They had an elegant and simple setup for their details that we thought looked great with the extra florals too!
The first look originally was debated on whether or not they wanted to do it, but in the end it worked out really well for the couple. They had the SWEETEST reaction and Max was so happy to see Alleana. They really soaked up that time together like they were hoping for and they finished all of their couple’s photos and wedding party photos before the ceremony.
We know that the mismatched bridesmaids dresses is not a new concept, but honestly we love the versatility it provides for couples so that their wedding party members feel comfortable on the wedding day. Alleana and Max both had wedding party members that had dresses and suits on each side and it really helped make sure that everyone was comfortable. As far as the colors go, there is some coordination involved to make sure there is a balance, but overall it felt really cohesive and beautiful.
We wanted to give a shoutout to Cresco Stems for a beautiful job on all of the florals - we love recommending them to people because their style is really beautiful. They always pick such unique and beautiful varieties of flowers, and of course it was a good time of year for peonies too so that helped! The florals and design for the ceremony and reception too when you see it is something out of a movie and they did a fantastic job bringing everything together!
Before the ceremony, Alleana and Max signed their ketubah with their family and friends as witnesses in the wedding suite. We loved their ketubah’s design with the painted blues - we did our best to flatten it out but not damage the paint since it was brought in a large tub, and thankfully it all worked out well in the end!
Alleana and Max kept many Jewish traditions for their ceremony - Alleana was on the right side, they stood under the chuppah, they had readings of the blessings, and they stomped on the glass at the end of the ceremony. We loved that they both broke the glass together too. When they were finally married, the couple and their wedding party all gathered together and shed many happy tears - it was incredibly sweet to witness all the love in one place.
Again, we just wanted to point out the AMAZING florals - we absolutely loved the blues and whites and the flowers were so full and beautiful! It definitely was one of the most beautiful ceremonies we have had!
Alleana and Max did some family portraits together in the outdoor patio area, and then spent most of their cocktail hour alone decompressing in the wedding suite. We made sure they had drinks and appetizers too! Right before cocktail hour had ended and the room flip had finished, they got to see the reception for the first time and really were so cute walking around in awe of their wedding vision coming together.
We were definitely in awe too! Greenhouse Loft is great because of all of the light, airy energy with the white curtains and the open windows, but it really was tied together in a perfect bow with their blue and white decor and florals. We really loved their cake too!
Alleana and Max weren’t keen on all eyes on them, so they skipped the grand entrance and got straight to dinner. We tried to have a private cake cutting but we had to do it twice because everyone noticed the first time and it got silent in the room… so we pretended like they were going to do something else so that people would turn their attention away a little more when it was actually time to cut the cake. They also had some really sweet speeches in between dinner and everyone really loved them with all the laughs and tears!
Before we started the dancing, Alleana and Max caught the sunset and took some photos outside. We really loved that they got to have dedicated time together throughout the whole day like we had planned!
Alleana and Max shared their first dance and spun into the dance floor opening. It was great kicking off the dance floor for them, but eventually they were mingling with all of their guests and enjoying the rest of the night together.
One of the nice things about Greenhouse Loft is that they have an in-house DJ but also an in-house photo booth! They took some photos and their guests really loved it too. We could tell the day was going exactly as they had hoped with how happy they were throughout the whole night and we are so thankful to have helped make sure it went well for them and their guests alike.
Overall, Alleana and Max got to have the wedding they had hoped for with all of their family and friends. We really enjoyed helping them along the way find their vendors, make sure they were getting things done, and being there to help the wedding day run smoothly. They were anxious about how things would come together but it really seemed like they had a great time. We are so grateful to have helped make sure their wedding day went exactly as they had hoped and they will have some amazing memories together for years to come!
