Vibrant Garden Party Wedding at Chicago History Museum and Morgan’s on Fulton Wedding Feature: Jasmine and Tyler
Jasmine and Tyler had such a stunning wedding that was so much fun! It was a little bit warm, but overall the weather was perfect on the early September day in Chicago. We provided our day-of coordination to ensure that their vision for their wedding came to life and they could really focus on having fun with their family and friends. The early, morning ceremony was at the iconic plaza at the Chicago History Museum and the reception was at Morgan’s on Fulton to close out the night, and it was a blast from start to finish!
Jasmine highly prioritized the look and feel for the wedding day - the regal-yet-whimsical vibe throughout the decor they had made themselves was beautiful and the “garden party” colors were perfect for the beautiful day they had while still also being able to have the party of their dreams. The little details went a long way for keeping that fun, elegant vibe throughout the entire wedding day. They also really wanted to ensure their guests had a good time and their wedding was an enjoyable, smooth celebration for everyone involved. We were able to keep things running as smoothly as possible and thankfully it seemed that their priorities were able to happen with our help!
All of the wedding party came to the museum after getting their hair, makeup, and outfits on. There were two partitioned rooms indoors where Jasmine and Tyler’s sides were both able to separately prepare and get excited for the day. Jasmine brought her dress to the venue to get fully ready at her own pace.
Jasmine planned a first look with her bridesmaids, the groomsman, and the groom. The girls had such a sweet, cute reaction to seeing Jasmine’s look all come together that we just loved! We also can’t help but notice how beautifully cohesive all of the girls’ dresses were - the color palette and styles all worked together SO well.
The ceremony took place outside on the plaza patio - it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for it too! It wasn’t too busy in the public park because of how early the ceremony ended up being, and with the guests arriving even earlier for the breakfast food and drinks on their rented food carts, it was definitely a nice way to get everyone ready for the day.
We also adored the ceremony programs as newspapers about the couple, the photos of Jasmine and Tyler’s families, and even the breakfast signs matching the aesthetic Jasmine was dreaming of!
Tyler got to have a first look at his soon-to-be spouse before the ceremony and it was so precious. There was all tears of joy from both Jasmine and Tyler and we really could feel the love from the early hours of the day.
After the final first looks, the wedding party took some photos prior to the ceremony inside while all of the guests were beginning to gather on the outdoor plaza. The two partitioned spaces really allowed for them to have breathing room while everyone was arriving and preparing for the ceremony.
The ceremony was sweet with their personalized vows, guests grabbing the parasols to shade from the sun, the amazing live musicians, and the overall joy you could feel from everyone. We did have to move the remaining food and drinks because of the unexpected bees, but we were able to do that for them without any issues thankfully.
One iconic moment from their ceremony was when it was time to exchange rings, they had one of their friends bring out Jasmine and Tyler’s dog, Finn, to be their ring bearer. We were of course nervous with their being no fencing in the public park, but he ran down the stairs and straight to the couple which was so fun to watch, and a little bit of a relief.
The recessional after the first kiss was a little unique but very cool to witness - the wedding party all filed down the aisle and released their paper streamers all at the perfect moment - the video we got of it was so cool and the photos were really great too!
After the ceremony, the guests had some time in between for themselves and the wedding party and the couple finished their remaining photos. They did nearly all of the photos in the park right behind the plaza and they turned out lovely! We also loved the individual portraits of the couple, especially highlighting Jasmine’s dress. The lace was incredibly quaint and unique, and the off-the-shoulder straps were so romantic!
After the photos, the wedding party took a little breather and gathered themselves at the hotel. We finished the setup of their personal decor, and they got to see the vision really come together. We loved the “flip” of the family photos to the seating chart they made, the bud vases, and the charming color throughout the whole day. They also had a temporary tattoo area that the guests really loved too!
The couple remained in their attire, but the guests and wedding party were asked to change into attire that represents their culture and it was SO cool to see! There was such a variety of outfits from all of the guests and it was a really awesome way to embrace the diversity of the cultures of their favorite people.
Dinner got finished quickly with a few fun speeches, and we moved to dessert and dancing. It was actually Jasmine’s mom’s 55th birthday, so Jasmine surprised her with a speech and a cake and it really got everyone surprisingly emotional for the beautiful shout-out Jasmine did for her. Once the candle was blown out, Jasmine changed into a reception dress, the dance floor opened, and it stayed full for the whole night! We passed out some glow sticks, glasses, and other light-up items that the guests really loved and made it feel like a party. They danced all night, and then went to an after party where they really kept the magic going.
Overall, the wedding day was a smashing success in our eyes. The day was full of love, beauty, and excitement from everyone involved and we couldn’t help but be grateful we got to have a hand in such an amazing wedding day. It was so much fun to have a hand in everyone celebrating Jasmine and Tyler’s love story.
